Vedic astrology combinations for medicine and healthcare

Doctor combinations in vedic astrology

We are looking for links between planets, houses, signs and Nakshatras. Which planets could indicate a profession in medicine? I have seen endless examples of people with Moon ruling one of the career houses who work in medicine. Venus is also linked to medicine because it is the planet of unconditional love and affection, so nursing and other medical professions could show a strong Venus. Sun is classified as an eradicator of diseases and a natural healer. In order, I mainly find Moon, then Venus, then Sun.

Nursing and surgery: different paths

I also find Mars associated with medicine, but when Mars is involved the career is likely to be surgical. The same applies to Saturn, which can also relate to elder care or the treatment of long-term diseases. Jupiter can indicate a general physician, medical study or research. Mercury can centre the specialisation on mental health or skin care, or make the person a lifelong student of medical science. Rahu and Ketu bring unconventional healing methods and the pharmaceutical sector; Ketu also links the path to ancient sciences and medicines.

The first through twelfth houses are associated with different parts of the body. The first house is the head; the second is the throat and face area, so its involvement can indicate a dentist. The fourth can indicate a heart surgeon. The eighth house relates to reproductive organs, and I meet people through my website who work in gynaecology and childbirth-related treatments. The twelfth house relates to the feet. The houses therefore determine the area of specialisation.

Medical research and the nakshatras

Among the Nakshatras, Ashwini is directly linked to healing methods of all kinds, even those classified as magical. Sometimes we come across a treatment classified as a breakthrough in its field.

Ashwini is particularly related to the restoration of sight, listening ability and even youthfulness. It also links to social services within medicine, such as ambulance services and related businesses, and is classified as belonging to a merchant. Bharani relates to childbirth and innovation in medical science. Ardra relates to herbal therapy and wildlife. Punarvasu is the most maternal Nakshatra. The natural care and affection we feel for people is very Punarvasu-like, so in my view all professions and areas of specialisation in medical science are linked to Punarvasu.

Ashlesha is strongly linked to mental health and psychology. Hasta, Chitra and Krittika are linked to the surgical side of medical science. Krittika is where I find Moon to be exalted, so it is directly linked to medical science. Mula is about relieving suffering and cracks in the body, and relates to ancient healing practices. Rohini relates to beauty enhancement and related treatments. Purva Ashadha relates to beauty enhancement and purification therapies, from fasting to cancer therapies. Shatabhisha is about the future, innovation and medical research. The main sign I link to medical science is Cancer. If you have some of these combinations, medicine could be your future.
