Vedic astrology combinations for teaching and research

Teacher combinations in vedic astrology

Let's now look at educators and researchers. I meet many through Farfaraway and classify myself as a researcher too. This is a very Jupiter-related profession. Of all the planets, I find Jupiter most closely linked to education and research, followed by Mercury. If Jupiter or Mercury links to the 6th, 10th or 11th house, this profession can be the right option. Saturn relates to long-term study and perhaps ancient sciences. Sun can make someone an inspiration, such as a business leader educating and inspiring younger leaders. Mars can centre education on physical activity or engineering. Venus can centre it on arts and culture, while Moon can indicate education in healthcare or hospitality. The main planets, however, are Jupiter and Mercury.

Mercury can also indicate a language teacher.

Krittika is directly related to government-funded educational institutes and educational institutes of all kinds. I would rank it as the Nakshatra most closely linked to education and research. Purva Phalguni belongs to the Brahmin classification and is directly linked to education, particularly in finance, fashion and social media. Purva Ashadha is more about motivation and travel. Purva Bhadrapada is about motivating transformation in the lives of others—for example, inspiring people to be more productive. Purva Ashadha and Purva Bhadrapada are therefore directly linked to education.

Pushya is about training educators and teachers, mentorship and related professions.

Revati can indicate a language teacher or spiritual leader.

Education houses and levels of learning

Among the houses, the fourth relates to school education and the fifth to a bachelor's degree. Counting five places from the fifth reaches the ninth, which becomes master's education. If the 6th, 10th or 11th house links to houses of education, you could work in education. Counting nine places from the ninth returns to the fifth. A higher version of the ninth house is linked to spiritual wisdom and ancient sciences, which are also seen from the fifth, so a fifth-house connection can indicate an educator in those themes.

Research, discovery and deep study

I also classify researchers as having a strong Pushya influence because this Nakshatra is ruled by Saturn. Ardra links to wildlife, travel, technology and the future, so you could educate people in those areas. Mula relates directly to research and getting to the bottom of things. A Mula native may lock oneself in a room until the solution or research is complete, removing distractions and going to extremes in pursuit of the work. Shatabhisha brings similar extremes, but can indicate futuristic medical research because its ruler is Rahu.

Swati is about research moving on a mental plane. I personally know a medical researcher with a strong Swati influence. Anuradha also relates to research: identifying patterns, analysing data and rising above facts and figures to view a field philosophically. Because Anuradha brings people together, the person's educational style may bring more harmony and peace into relationships. These are the Nakshatras linked to educators and researchers.
