Ashwini Nakshatra
This is the first Nakshatra and one of my favourites. As per mythology, it is ruled by the Ashwini Kumaras, whose mythology describes what this Nakshatra is all about.
Ashwini Kumaras respond to our help instantly. They have a high-speed vehicle, and they give the fruits of heaven to us immediately in an emergency.
In an emergency, we call an emergency number and receive assistance. The entire operation of responding to such calls—including the people who travel to help us—is linked to Ashwini. Rescue missions during a tsunami, war or earthquake are examples. We often hear stories of aircraft being allocated for such duties.
Saturn in Ashwini
Hard work and service
When Saturn is in Ashwini, the person helps through practical means and remains involved for a long time. For example, if a village complains of a shortage of clean drinking water, a bureaucrat may assign an Ashwini-like person who stays for months to restore the supply. Restoration is closely linked to Ashwini.
The person may spend months trying to solve the problem. They may be service-oriented, patient and willing to give it the necessary time: quick to respond, but prepared to remain helpful for as long as required. This is not a quick rescue mission but a long-term solution. In healthcare, the person may specialise in treating long-term conditions.
This may include a long-term or genetic skin condition. The link with genetic conditions comes from Ashwini being ruled by Ketu. The person provides assistance and medical expertise to resolve the long-term health issue.
The person may be meticulous and methodical in solving problems. They can be excellent problem-solvers because they do not rush to produce a solution and are willing to give the problem the time it requires. Saturn-linked businesses may be service-related, such as elder-care hospitals or homes.
Those are very Saturn Ashwini like. Elder care is directly linked to Saturn. Or healing centres that use ancient healing methodologies as Saturn represents such methodologies. The person can be in that kind of healthcare business—a very service-oriented business.
Saturn is known for selflessness and this Nakshatra is also known for that and I think Saturn overall does really well here. Authority issues may still be there, but the person might have the resilience to face such issues. When Sun is in Ashwini, the person might challenge, why did you question my authority?
With the Sun, the person may say, ‘I am in charge; you should follow my direction.’ With Saturn, the person may have greater resilience. They may have to compromise, but have the inner strength to endure difficulties, move on and consider the larger picture. That is my view of Saturn in Ashwini.
Thank you for your time.
