Bharani falls entirely in Aries and, as per mythology, is ruled by Lord Yama. The mythology linked to Lord Yama describes what this section of the sky is all about. Lord Yama's primary duty is to receive us at the time of death, which conveys a state of transformation.

Lord Yama takes us to the realm of ancestors to decide our future. He holds us accountable for every good and bad karma and decides our future on that basis. We may feel that we can continue to tell lies and be part of deceptions because no one is watching us, but Lord Yama is.

As per Indian mythology, Lord Yama is feared and is also known as the lord of death. In this cosmic courtroom, he is helped by Chitragupta, a karmic accountant. Lord Yama carries a book recording everything we have done, and our future is decided on that. This conveys what Bharani is all about: the judiciary, law and justice.

Moon in Bharani

The Moon represents our mind and way of thinking, and the mind is very impressionable. Everything described about Bharani may therefore become part of the person's way of thinking. The person might judge others based on right and wrong: ‘That person has done this wrong and should therefore be given this punishment.’ That is Bharani's way of thinking.

The person may also love exploration and want to be the first at doing things. The thrill may come from achieving something for the first time, and that might be the main motivating factor. The person may also be very pleasure-seeking. A female reproductive organ is one of Bharani's symbols and Venus rules this section of the sky, so the person's thinking may be driven by the senses and by desires: ‘I want to experience that. I want this.’

Where Venus is placed is therefore going to be very important.

The person's way of thinking would be uncommon. People may say, ‘You have innovative ideas, but you are by yourself,’ because Bharani belongs to the outcast caste. The person may have only oneself to follow through on those ideas. The Moon has a nurturing side, so the person may protect those facing injustice and feel for those who are suffering.
