Jupiter, Sun, Moon, and Mars belong to the lineage of Sage Angiras whereas Venus, Mercury, and Saturn belong to Sage Bhrigu. The last born son of Sage Kashyapa and Goddess Aditi, Martanda (Vivasvat or the Sun) commences the human race through his son, King Manu Vaivasvata. Each one of us could be traced back to either the Saptarishis (seven sages) or Manu Vaivasvata.
