Warren Buffett's birth chart

Introduction

I'm going to talk about the birth chart of Warren Buffett. I'll go through a variety of aspects of his life, including, obviously, why he has made so much money. But let's start with his birth details.

Omaha time changes the chart

Time

The time difference is very important. On 30 August 1930, when he was born, it was five hours. DST was applied in August 1930. This calculation is important.

From the web reference Time and Date, I found that in 1930 certain states followed DST and certain states didn't. Nebraska West did not follow DST, but Nebraska on the whole, which is where Omaha, his place of birth, falls, followed DST. The time difference was five hours.

This calculation is accurately made on Farfaraway. If you enter his birth details, you get his chart. This is important because a six-hour difference, without taking DST into account, would mean his rising sign was not Scorpio. It is crucial to get the details correct. You must cross-check the time information with outside sources, as I did with Time and Date, to make sure the birth time is properly entered in any chart calculator.

Jyeshtha rising and Mercury in Hasta

Intellect

What do I find in his chart? His rising constellation is Jyeshtha, which symbolises that he's likely to be in a position of power in society. Jyeshtha's ruler, Mercury, is exalted. His powerful position is going to be based on his intellect and reasoning ability, as Mercury is exalted in the money house in Hasta.

I find Mercury-in-Hasta individuals to be highly intelligent. I'm not trying to fit the description of Mercury in Hasta to describe Warren Buffett. Any person who has Mercury in Hasta, in my view, is naturally blessed with logical skills and high levels of intelligence, and can also be morally and ethically principled.

Mercury being placed there in the money house and also ruling the money house greatly strengthens the money house. This, in my view, is a prime combination in this chart behind his wealth.

Mercury, divisional charts and partnerships

Money

If you look at the Navamsha chart, you'd find Mercury placed there in the 5th house. The 5th house is directly linked to banking, stock markets and the like. In the D10 chart, Mercury falls in the 8th house. The 8th house is strongly linked to dealing with large sums of money that belong to others.

If you go through his life story, he started his business in partnership with investors. He would get some commission and offer some return. He had money from others, which he invested profitably and from which he earned his money. You see Mercury directly shaping his personality through Jyeshtha rising, entering the money house and relating to the 5th and 8th houses.

I think his chart perfectly explains the choice and direction of his career, which was investment banking and the like.

Sun in Purva Phalguni and visibility

Visibility

Sun in his chart in the 10th house in Purva Phalguni is suggesting two things in my reading. Once more, we see his career. Sun's position will signify which direction you are going to take as far as career is concerned.

Purva Phalguni, I've mentioned separately, is a constellation directly linked, in my reading, to investment bankers, stock markets, specialists and the like. Secondly, Sun in the 10th in Purva Phalguni is suggesting that he's likely to have an attractive personality. He could be the face of his business or can be talked about. This is a sign of popularity.

Anuradha Moon, Mula Saturn and research

Research

Moon in the 1st house in Anuradha is a sign, in my view, that he's quite research-minded and can be quite relentless in his pursuit of excellence in his research. He would want to get to the bottom of things. Why is that? Anuradha's planetary ruler is Saturn.

Saturn in his chart is in Mula. The entire idea behind Mula is getting to the bottom of things. When you're analysing your charts, don't look at planetary combinations in isolation. Everything is linked.

Moon in his chart is directly linked to Saturn, and Saturn further is in Mula. Anuradha, I've mentioned repeatedly, is a constellation that belongs to researchers.

The Anuradha-Mula connection to giving

Giving

Incidentally, it's also a constellation that belongs to social workers in my reading. We'll go through the Dasha table to see when certain events happened. In his later years, he pledged to give a large portion of his wealth towards social-welfare activities.

That, in my view, is explained by Moon in Anuradha and Saturn in Mula. Anuradha and Mula are two constellations, in my view, which belong to the ones who have a strong interest in giving back to society in some manner.

Venus, finance and dealmaking

Dealmaking

Venus in his chart is in the money house in the main chart. It's in the 10th house in the Navamsha and rules the 10th house in the D10 chart. All of this strongly suggests that his career was always going to be linked to a Venus-related industry. Venus is directly linked to careers in finance.

With Venus in this position, I believe the combination suggests that he knows the art of dealmaking. The offer he made to investors was something along the lines of: if you don't get a particular amount of returns, I'll pay you from my pocket. The art of dealmaking he possessed, in my view, is explained by this Venus position.

Rahu, initiative and enterprise

Enterprise

His street-smartness is due, in my reading, to the position of Rahu in his chart, which falls in a constellation of Ashwini. Ashwini is a constellation that belongs to the ones who are quite enterprising.

They take the initiative. The entire mythology of Ashwini is all about that, and it's also a constellation belonging to business owners. When Rahu is there, that's where, in my view, your smartness comes into the picture. You know how to deal with people and how to run a business, basically.

Education and his home

Foundations

If you look at the 9th house in the main and Navamsha charts to see what kind of educational background the person might have, there is no influence of Saturn and Ketu which can deny an opportunity to study further. His educational background is normal compared with other world leaders who might have dropped out. The 9th house is strong enough for him to have had regular education.

If you look at the 4th house, it is shown by Saturn. The 4th house determines your place of residence or the kind of house you might live in. Saturn's rulership of the 4th house depicts that he might live in a simple house. That has been his life story. I think he bought a property and continued living there for a very long time.

Benjamin Graham's guidance in 1951

Mentor

Let's look into the Dasha table, break his life into important events and see whether they are explained by the table. In 1951, whilst he was going through Mercury Mahadasha and Jupiter Antardasha, he met his mentor, Benjamin Graham.

Jupiter's Antardasha, as I've mentioned repeatedly, is the best time for further education and it's also the best time to get the right guidance in life. His relationship with his mentor, in my view, is explained by this Dasha.

Business milestones from 1956 to 1969

Ventures

In May 1956, he was going through Ketu Mahadasha and Sun Antardasha. Sun is in the 10th house in Purva Phalguni. Amongst many things linked to Purva Phalguni, newness, initiatives and new businesses are directly linked to it. During Sun Antardasha, he started his first main business, Buffett Partnership.

Right through Ketu Mahadasha, things would have been only okay. Ketu Mahadasha is not a time for extraordinary name or fame. When he entered Venus Mahadasha, he became a millionaire in 1962, right in the middle of Venus's chapter.

Another Sun chapter, Sun Antardasha, arrived in May 1965, when he took over Berkshire Hathaway, which I understand is his current business. Taking control could be classified as a new venture. It happened again under Sun. Previously, he started Buffett Partnership under Sun; Sun in Purva Phalguni in the 10th signifies newness.

May 1969 was an important phase when he closed Buffett Partnership and moved all his assets into Berkshire Hathaway. Rahu Antardasha was going on while the Mahadasha was still Venus. I'm trying to highlight that Rahu brings changes in our lives. We either move away from the past to start something new or rearrange things to experience something new.

Becoming the world's richest man in 2008

Recognition

In March 2008, he became the world's richest man.

Anyone who has achieved anything significant in society and is now recognised for having achieved something, in my view, manifests most commonly under Jupiter's Antardasha. At that time, he was going through Rahu's Mahadasha but, more importantly in my reading, Jupiter's Antardasha.

This is very important. I often quote the example of Mr Donald Trump, who became president under Jupiter Mahadasha. If you're about to enter Jupiter's Dasha, whether it's the Mahadasha, Antardasha or even Pratyantardasha, you can expect things to work in your favour.

The 2010 Giving Pledge and Saturn

Pledge

I've highlighted that the constellations of Anuradha and Mula are directly linked, in my view, to social-welfare activities.

When he entered Rahu and Saturn's chapter in 2010, he co-founded the Giving Pledge alongside Bill Gates. This is when he became more inclined towards social-welfare activities. It happened during Saturn's chapter, and Saturn in his chart is in Mula. I'm trying to draw a connection between what transpired in his life and the role planets play in his chart.

Marriage timelines: 1952 and 2006

Marriage

If you look at his personal life, he was married in April 1952.

At that time, the table used here describes Mercury, Saturn and Mercury's chapter. I think this marriage was simply born out of free will. I don't think that particular time was extraordinarily promising in this astrological reading.

His second marriage took place on 30 August 2006. He was going through Rahu Mahadasha, Rahu Antardasha and Venus Pratyantardasha. I've mentioned Rahu-Venus Dasha in explaining how to predict the time of marriage and have always maintained that it is a very promising time for marriage.

I can understand that his second marriage was, in my view, a bit more destined, while perhaps his first marriage was born out of free will.

Mercury in Hasta and partnerships

Partner

He was always meant, in my reading, to be with someone who might have an inclination towards social-welfare activities. Why is that? The seventh-house ruler in the Navamsha chart is Mercury, and Mercury in his chart is in the constellation of Hasta.

Hasta is described as signifying the person being highly skilful and intelligent. At the same time, Hasta is a very giving constellation, or has a strong inclination to give back to society. Hasta's ruler is Moon, and Moon in his chart is in Anuradha.

What I'm trying to say is that he was meant to be with a partner who might be very inclined towards social-welfare activities. He described his ex-wife as the one who was more inclined towards social-welfare activities. He said that Susie, his first wife, had a much broader social vision than he had.

That, in my view, is because he was meant to be with a partner signified by Mercury, and Hasta's ruler Moon is in Anuradha. The reason why I've shared this combination is to help you understand how to predict who your partner might be from your chart. You look at the seventh-house ruler, both in the main and the Navamsha chart, and see how it's placed. This is all that I had to share. I'm hoping the planetary combinations in his chart made sense and the Dasha-table analysis of certain life events also made sense to you.

Thank you for your time.
