Hasta Nakshatra

Hasta is one of the most auspicious sections of the sky, and you'll find that out very soon. As per mythology, it's ruled by Lord Savita, and this nakshatra falls entirely in the sign of Virgo. Lord Savita is known to have his arms wide open for anyone who seeks his blessings. That is how he's characterised.

The Gayatri Mantra, considered the most sacred mantra, is dedicated to Lord Savita. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says that among mantras he represents the Gayatri Mantra, illustrating its divinity. The mantra is:

Om Bhur Bhuvah Swaha Tatsavitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

The word Savita refers to Lord Savita, ruler of this section of the sky. One translation is, ‘May we attain the excellent glory of Lord Savita so he may stimulate our prayers.’ Another is, ‘We choose the supreme light of the divine Sun. We aspire that it may impel our minds.’ The stimulation or impelling of the mind describes both Lord Savita and Hasta. He can purify the mind and intellect so that we think more logically, clearly and at an elevated level.

Venus in Hasta

Venus in Hasta may inspire people to unite for a cause. Venus represents togetherness, while Hasta represents inspiration. If the Moon is favourable, the combination may make the person a social worker who brings people together and stimulates them towards a social cause. In relationships, the person may express love through acts of service and expect the same from a partner.

The person may be practical and analytical even in love and may feel that they have built the relationship or marriage through their own effort. The downside is a search for perfection: Hasta's desire to do things flawlessly can create unrealistic expectations of a partner.

Creative work may be extraordinary, inspirational and produced with precision. Pablo Picasso, who popularised Cubism, has Venus in Hasta; in my view, this illustrates how creations under this placement can contain unique detail.

Another example is carpentry, in which a beautiful object is created by putting parts together artistically. Venus in Hasta therefore combines creativity with technical skill. Since Venus represents money, the placement may also lead to financial services or financial advisory.

Venus in Hasta may be directly linked to the career. Because Venus seeks pleasure and Hasta is Rajasic, the native may become preoccupied with building a personal brand, achieving worldly success, fame or money. In my view, this is the main downside of the placement.
