A second chance, and ego with partners

Punarvasu Nakshatra

Punarvasu falls in the signs of Gemini and Cancer and, as per mythology, is ruled by Goddess Aditi. She is the mother of all the gods known to reside in the heavens. That is why this Nakshatra is the most maternal section of the sky.

Goddess Aditi provides food, shelter and protection. Healthcare, hospitality, housing and industries that protect society are therefore directly linked to Punarvasu. I would also add public transport: while travelling by bus, train or aeroplane, we can feel the comfort of home.

Airlines brand themselves as offering a home in the sky, with the same peace as your own living room. Trains convey a similar message. Many overnight trains offer a comfortable and cosy cabin for travelling from one part of the world to another. Public transport is directly linked to Punarvasu. The Indian Railways' slogan is “Lifeline of the Nation”.

Sun in Punarvasu

Leadership and spiritual inclination

Sun–Punarvasu is likely to lead to business leadership. The person may be a business leader or may inspire businesses through policy. A politician, for example, might frame a policy encouraging businesses to use an alternative fuel such as hydrogen. Airlines and their owners then follow that policy, making the person a source of inspiration for businesses.

Some airlines offer elaborate free meals throughout a journey. Those that provide such facilities and food are very Sun–Punarvasu-like.

With such initiatives, you might encourage other airlines to follow your lead. That is how I imagine a Sun Punarvasu-like person to be. The person's career can be in healthcare. Sun is known to eradicate diseases.

This Nakshatra is about taking care of people, so the person may run a hospital. The Sun is known for nobility and consistency, while Punarvasu carries reliability. The person may even be a politician on whom people rely.

The Sun is known to burn relationships when ego gets in the way, so a Sun-like person can have issues with business partners. Punarvasu, however, might provide a second chance. Steve Jobs did not have a Punarvasu influence, but I use his story because he lost his position after burning relationships with investors and later regained it. He was a Sun-like person, with the Sun ruling the first house, and he received a second chance.

A similar second chance can be given to you if you have Sun in Punarvasu. That is how I see it. The whole chart would have to be read. But in some cases, this combination can lead to you playing the role of a mother and a father to your children.

Your father may similarly play the role of both father and mother in your life. If the Sun is in Punarvasu in Gemini, the person's speaking style may be authoritative. The person can be seen both as an inspiration and a source of comfort, making people feel that the speaker is reliable.

During a war, for example, a politician may need to make a reassuring statement: “Don't worry; we have it under control.”

A Sun-Gemini-Punarvasu-like person would have the capability to give people reassurance at times of difficulty. The person may take on big issues in the world like conserving natural resources or protecting our borders. Altogether, this is a very strong position. Sun-Punarvasu, Punarvasu's ruler Jupiter and Sun share an excellent relationship.

If there's a bit of travel that's going to be part of the person's journey, it's likely to be more relocation. The person is given charge of a new office in a new location. Travel is linked to career and is more like a relocation rather than traveling often. That's my view of Sun in Punarvasu.
