Sravana Nakshatra: characteristics, careers and personality

Sravana is the 22nd Nakshatra, occupying 10 degrees to 23 degrees 20 minutes of Capricorn. It is ruled by the Moon. Here's what it represents:

Lord Vishnu has sovereignty over Sravana

He’s all-pervading and most powerful. In the current cycle of life, Lord Vishnu incarnates as Lord Vamana, a young, learned Brahmin. In a mythical tale, Lord Vamana wins back the entire Universe from King Bali (a demon) in just three steps and restores peace. This tale is symbolic of Lord Vishnu’s influence, which is beyond measure. So vast is his influence that his very being pervades the entire universe. He lives beyond the remotest region of the Universe and oversees and supervises everything. He has the eyes of heaven. He establishes the cosmic law. He declares Lord Indra as the King of heaven, the Rudras as rulers of the atmosphere, and the Vasus as rulers of Earth. No amount of hymns dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the Vedas does justice to his supremacy.

The native

The native would be an expert in organisational work, distributing responsibility, allocating resources such as land, putting structures in place, making policies and defining rules, regulations and laws. The native would protect societal norms, customs, and traditions and therefore could be an activist, a lobbyist, a diplomat, a lawyer, a preacher, or a social worker. Sravana’s main symbol is an ear. The native would have acute auditory skills, responsible and measured speech, an aptitude for languages and expertise in reciting holy scriptures. So, language teachers, pronunciation experts, translators, story-tellers, journalists, TV anchors, talk show hosts, dialogue coaches, grammarians, linguists, distinguished speakers, voice artists, editors, symphony directors, sound engineers, composers, counselors, and telecom engineers are associated with Sravana. Since Moon rules Sravana, the native would be receptive, caring, patient, and would make everyone comfortable. The ability to listen would make the native an excellent student. The native may even connect with the divine and help others connect too. The native may have an interest in car racing, motorsports, sprinting, speed boating or anything that entails speed, as Lord Vishnu took those three steps with great speed to win back the Universe. Since Lord Vishnu lives in the remotest part of the Universe, the native could be interested in aeronautics or space travel. Lord Vishnu’s three steps were unequal and grew exponentially, which may indicate exponential growth in the native’s career. Lord Vishnu desired admiration and fame, so the native would be popular and rich, mingle with the elite and protect his/her reputation, but may succumb to pride. In short, the native’s ability to listen, learn, and teach would be beyond compare.
