Bharani Nakshatra

Bharani falls entirely in Aries and, as per mythology, is ruled by Lord Yama. The mythology linked to Lord Yama describes what this section of the sky is all about. Lord Yama's primary duty is to receive us at the time of death, which conveys a state of transformation.

Lord Yama takes us to the realm of ancestors to decide our future. He holds us accountable for every good and bad karma and decides our future on that basis. We may feel that we can continue to tell lies and be part of deceptions because no one is watching us, but Lord Yama is.

As per Indian mythology, Lord Yama is feared and is also known as the lord of death. In this cosmic courtroom, he is helped by Chitragupta, a karmic accountant. Lord Yama carries a book recording everything we have done, and our future is decided on that. This conveys what Bharani is all about: the judiciary, law and justice.

Saturn in Bharani

Saturn in Bharani is interesting because Saturn is debilitated here. Saturn imposes constraints and delays. Something the person wants to complete is delayed, and resources become limited. Bharani's exploratory side is about doing things never done before. Delays, constraints and limitations make Saturn uncomfortable here, or prevent Bharani's purpose from being fulfilled. In my view, that is the main reason for Saturn's debilitation in this section of the sky.

Venus rules Bharani, which combines unhinged creativity with exploration and the desire to be first. Saturn is the opposite: it delays, limits and imposes restrictions. How can something unprecedented be done under those constraints? People who nevertheless accomplish things with Saturn in Bharani may do so with minimum resources, such as creating something artistic from simple objects.

Without money or resources, the person may invent and create something beautiful from limited, readily available raw materials. Saturn in Bharani also does a good job in the process of deciding fate. In a courtroom, Saturn represents those who serve the court: recording proceedings, managing the order of cases and telling people when it is their turn.

Courtroom service providers are Saturn-Bharani-like. I do not think Saturn actually decides fate; it serves the process through which fate is decided. A Saturn-Bharani-like person may have controlled desires and can be an excellent editor. Saturn is well suited to any creative process requiring time and patience.

I think if we combine Saturn's character with its Ugra nature, the person would become very relentless. If the person is vindictive, cruel, the person would be extremely methodical behind one's cruelty. I think worldly desires are going to be limited, which is a good sign. Here, if Saturn is following an outcast kind of a life, it's difficult to imagine Saturn doing something out of convention, as Saturn follows conventions and it symbolizes traditions. Therefore, again, it's a mismatch. That's another reason why I believe Saturn is debilitated here, as the outcast nature of Bharani is not fully expressed through Saturn.
