Before matching horoscopes, match the person

Start by matching the person

Person

Before you go ahead and match horoscopes, it might be a good idea to match the person first. You can identify the personality traits and professional background of your life partner from your chart.

If you are planning to go on a date with someone, or you are interested in someone, it may be a good start if that person matches the description you have identified from your chart.

Start with the 7th-house ruler

Seventh house

First identify the planet ruling the marriage house, the 7th house, in your main chart. Then study where that planet is placed: the house, the sign and, very importantly, the Nakshatra.

If possible, also study the position of the 7th-house ruler in the D9, or Navamsha, chart.

Add the Darakaraka and the Navamsha ruler

Darakaraka

If you are willing to spend more time, identify the Darakaraka, the planet in your chart holding the lowest eligible degree. On Farfaraway, DK is shown next to this planet.

The Darakaraka also represents the life partner in this method, so study its position in the main chart and the D9 chart. Do the same for the ruler of the marriage house in the D9 chart: study its position in the D9 and in the main chart.

See whether the person fits the profile

Profile

If you study the rulers of the marriage house in the main chart and Navamsha, together with the Darakaraka, you can build a description of the person you are likely to attract.

Rather than going straight to horoscope matching, it might be a good idea to start by seeing whether the person matches that description.
