The first selfie, known to man, was taken in 1839, but it not until 2009 when Flickr used the word selfie that it became a mainstream hashtag. Today 93 million selfies are taken every day. And going by the trend, one person will take an average 25,700 selfies in a lifetime. We are definitely living in a selfie generation, so what roles are people playing…
They mock every person taking a selfie, and responsible for sharing every selfie gone wrong, but spend half the time checking themselves out at the gym, and taking welfies (a work-out selfie) when no one’s watching. They want the world to know how brawny they are – I think they invented the belfie (a selfie taken for the back) so no muscle is left behind.
Beware: they are quick to block others who post better belfies than them.
They love to click selfies with the things they own, “my phone” “my car” “my shoes” “my house” is a very Taurus thing to do - I think they invented the selfie stick so they can accommodate more things. They are also the ones taking celebrie, selfies with famous people, pretending to be friends.
They go on a riot taking selfies when they are travelling. They want the world to know the peaks they climbed, the roads they travelled, the mountains they hiked, and the waves they surfed. They get overexcited to see people from different cultures, and make it a point to say cheese with them. They are the inventors of tourfie: selfies as a tourist.
They love taking a selfie dressing their hair, applying makeup, or dawning a new outfit. They are the ones with the maximum number of selfies facing the mirror. They are obsessed with themselves, they invented the pout face, the duck face, the sparrow face, the frog face, fishlips, the fish gape…the list is endless.
They love to create a mystery behind their selfies. Just about to bungee jump, dive into the see, drive a car like a rocket, or drink like a fish is how they best describe selfies. They are also known for the dark, edgy selfies - they are the ones hiding their face, or wearing a mask/costume. They invented the hellfie – pictures of them raising hell.
One day they will start a revolution to forbid the world from taking selfies.
They love to create a collage out of selfies, they like to show different facets of their personality. They are also the ones taking selfies with babies/kids or grandparents. They are the first ones to emotionally breakdown for not getting enough selfie likes.
They love to talk about "time" when they talk about selfies - the time they woke up, took a walk, had a meal etc. is how they describe selfies. Their place of work is their playground – they’ll post a selfie from their desk, the cafeteria, the elevator, and even the washrooms, just to tell people they work!.
They are selfie experts – they seem to know the right angles, the lighting, and the posture. When they are not taking selfies they are busy art-directing others. They love to filter the crap out of selfies, and known for creating a mona lisa out of a selfie.
They invented instagram, snapchat, and they are on their way to start a selfie university.
They love to talk about "numbers" when they talk about selfies like how many eggs they ate or how fast they drove, or how much they spent . They like to brag about how intelligent they are. They love posing with animals (safarie - a selfie with animals) and don’t mind making a donkey of themselves.
They invented the group selfie - usie. They go on a spree clicking selfies at a party. They want the world to know how social they are, and they’ll also be the ones photobombing every selfie they can get their face in.
They bombard the world with photos of them at peace – doing yoga, meditating, sleeping, overlooking a mountain, doing something creative. But one day they’ll renounce taking selfies, and start a cult to end this addiction.
They don’t seem to know what’s wrong with selfie takers. They hate Leos the most. They’ve taken upon themselves to kill this social menace. One day they’ll successfully brand taking selfies as a mental disorder, breaking one mega pixel after the other.
You probably heard, we ain't in the selfie taking business, we in the selfie killing business - they say
